Some nonprofit organizations that focus on specific medical or disability situations offer financial support for home accessibility modifications. If you’re not aware of assistance for your medical or disability situation, contact your national or local chapter to find out.

Spinal Cord Injury Association of Connecticut (SCIACT)

The SCIACT offers Connecticut residents with spinal cord injuries Quality of Life Grants to meet a variety of needs, including some for home accessibility modifications. Grants range from $250 to $500.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS)

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) is a comprehensive resource that provides information and access to affordable accessibility modifications at home and in the workplace. To determine eligibility, documentation from either an occupational or physical therapist is required.
