Personal Care Assistance (PCA) Waiver

This program helps individuals with a disability gain greater independence by employing personal care assistants for help with everyday tasks. It’s flexible and cost-effective because it does not require using the services of a home health agency. It offers Tiered Case Management and Adult Family Living. Personal Care Assistance is also available under Community First Choice.

There is currently a waiting list for the PCA Waiver. Individuals needing this program are encouraged to apply and be added to the wait list. In the interim they may benefit from services available under Community First Choice.

  • individuals with a physical disability, between 18 and 64 years old
  • must not exceed established income and asset limits
  • able to meet all other home and community-based Medicaid requirements
