It is the mission of Social Services to enhance the quality of life and self-sufficiency of people in need of social and financial services. The department offers services and referrals as well as assistance applying for local, state and federal social services programs. In addition, Social Services works with the Center for Support & Wellness, with referrals for mental health providers going to the Center and people in need of other services such as financial assistance or help applying for state programs going to Social Services. The My Place CT website is used as a tool for screening clients and determining their eligibility for programs and services.
